3 Ways to Compress Photos without reducing The Quality

You often store valuable photos on your cellphone but worry that they are too big to fit the storage? Or need to upload a photo but the size is too big?

Don’t worry, because you can compress the photo to reduce its size without reducing the quality. Here are three easy ways to compress photos using online services, PCs and mobile phones.

1. How to Compress Photos Online

Compressing photos online is the easiest because you don’t need to download any application. In addition, this method can also be used either through a PC or cellphone.

To compress photos online the first thing you need to do is open the site via the browser of choice. Click the Upload File option in the middle of the screen and select the photo that you want to compress. Or you can also drag-and-drop photos directly from the file manager to the browser.

You can compress up to 20 photos at a time. The photos you have selected will be automatically uploaded and compressed. Wait a few moments until the upload and compress process is complete.

After this process is complete, you can immediately download the compressed photo. But if you want to feel the size is still not what you want, you can scroll down and change the compression level.

You will see two versions of a photo that is uncompressed and already. Next to it looks a slider of photo quality indicators that you can increase or decrease as desired.

If the size is what you want, click Download All to download your photos to a PC or mobile.

2. How to Compress Photos on a Windows PC

This method is suitable for those of you who are working at a computer but not connected to the internet. You also don’t need to download any application because it will use the default Windows Photos application.

First, find and select the photo you want to compress in the file manager. After that, right-click on the desired photo, select Open With in the menu then select the Photos option.

After your photos open in Photos, click the three dots on the top right side of the screen. After that, a drop-down menu will appear and click Resize.

Then choose the size you want. There are three size options, namely Small, Medium and Large. After selecting the desired size, the Save As window will appear to save your photos.

Select the storage folder as you wish, enter the new name of the photo, then select Save.

3. How to Compress Photos on an Android Phone

There are many ways to compress photos using an Android phone or cellphone, including using an application. One photo compress application that is easy and widely used is Photo Compress & Resize developed by Lit Photo.

To use it you first need to download the application on the Google Play Store. After the download and installation process is complete, open the application.

On the front page select the Compress Photos menu. Select the photos you want, and you can choose up to 100 photos at once to be compressed.

When finished selecting photos to click the check mark on the upper right side of the application. You are given two compression options namely shrink the photo based on quality or size.

If you choose the quality option, move the slider to the desired quality percentage. The greater the percentage, the greater the size and quality, and vice versa.

If you choose the size option, you can reduce the size according to the specific size, for example, 200 KB. You can just move the slider to 200 KB.

If the quality and size are as you wish to click Start Compressing. Wait a few moments and your photos will automatically be saved in the LitPhoto folder which can be accessed in the Gallery or the file manager.
